There's nothing like a small crowded easily accessible city like Singapore. If the humidity doesn't kill you, the hours spent wandering the streets will. Singapore is a great place for cityscape pictures. Great locations like Botanical Gardens, Marina Bay, Sentosa beach are all very easy to get to. Because Singapore is a tourist hub, there are a plethora of maps and guides to get you where you need to go. Furthermore, Singapore is small enough you'll be able to reach your destination quickly.
You want old town Singapore? Coffee shops and white alley ways? You got it. Tiong Bahru. Here's the location. Feel free to explore and wander down alleys:
If you want a little break away from city shots, then you must visit the Botanical Gardens. It's relatively close to Tiong Bahru and right outside the subway station. If you scroll down a little you'll see Tiong Bahru plaza. Here's the map:
Here are two images from the Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately, I do not have coordinates for these areas. You'll have to walk around a little bit to find them, but you can't miss these two areas; just follow the path.
Finally, of course, what's Singapore without Marina Bay? If you get there around 8:00pm-9:00pm, you'll get to enjoy a free laser light and water show. There's a link to light show schedule. If you want some advice, stand on the other side of the bay facing the Marina Bay Sands hotel instead of directly below it.
Here's a suggested area for viewing, you can view from the direct opposite of this spot. There are lawn chairs available in the area directly opposite to this one:
Be sure to visit Sentosa Island and Clarke Quay on your way out, which are two other places with great potential for photographs. You'll feel safe in this city, whether night or day, it is definitely worth visiting, if you can withstand the humidity :)
